Pimalai Resort
Peace, Serenity, Solitude. These are the words that come to mind for Pimalai. Add to that luxury, elegance, natural surroundings and genuine friendly service.
Be it for a honeymoon, a wedding ceremony, a diving experience, a break from it all or even for a business meeting in Krabi then Pimalai, nestled in a lush tropical forest, is the Andaman destination to set your sights on. This exclusive beach resort combines all the right ingredients - subtle five star comforts, natural beauty, environmental friendly and lots of space. Located well distant from crowded beaches and other resorts on Koh Lanta (or Ko Lanta) and close to Lanta Marine National Park, the only sound is that of the waves sliding in and out and slowly breaking onto the sandy shore.
Built within the rainforest as it meets the silver ocean strand, you would hardly know Pimalai was there. This boutique beach resort occupies 100 acres of tropical vegetation with direct access to a 900 meters stretch of pristine sandy beach and offers 121 accommodation units - Deluxe, Bayfront Deluxe, Pavillion Suite, Beach Villa and Pool Villa - all very elegantly appointed.
From Krabi mainland, it takes about 1 hour by the resort boat to reach Koh Lanta and Pimalai but it is worth bearing this "hardstrip" in order to find such a unique lost paradise in tourist Thailand...

Pimalai Charm - The Charm of the seas
This year the Pimalai Resort & Spa participated in the Multi-hull class at the 12th Phang Nga Bay Regatta, one of the world’s most scenic sailing events. The resort entered the race for the first time with a brand new Tri-maran "Pimalai Charm", which finished in a very honorable third place overall for the regatta. The race started on January 27th and lasted for 4 days. Pimalai Charm’s route for day one was from the new Ao Po Grand Marina situated on the north-eastern tip of Phuket Island to Laem Sak in the far north, then sailing south towards Koh Yao Noi on day two, day three across to Railay Beach in Krabi, with the final leg on day four back to Ao Chalong. All of the crew enjoying the fun and spirit of yacht racing. This year’s fleet was one of the strongest ever competing for six trophies. Conditions were near perfect on day one as a 6 to 7 knot north-easterly forced the yachts to zig- zag up the bay, sailing past beautiful limestone cliffs and idyllic islands until the wind petered out and then filled again. The wind conditions lightened later in the week and the fleet looked as though it was standing still on a painted sea, but then ribbons of breeze would appear and away the yachts would sail again. "Pimalai Charm" finished in third place on day one and day two. However, on day three she took second place honors, with "Summersault", one of its fierce competitors coming in third. On the fourth and final day the battle was now between "Pimalai Charm" and "Summersault" for second place honors. After a very good start "Pimalai Charm" passed the finishing line in first place (almost 25 minutes ahead of "Summersault") but due to handicap system the corrected time, placed the Pimalai Tri-maran in second place for the day, and gaining "Pimalai Charm" third place overall in the Multi-hull class.
